European and Russian markets dominate inbound travel figures
DUBAI – Turkiye has posted another landmark year for travel, welcoming close to 64 million visitors and generating more than $65 billion in tourism revenue, according to official 2025 results announced in İstanbul.
The figures underline the country’s continued rise as a global tourism powerhouse.
Growth was recorded across arrivals, visitor spending and long-term performance metrics.

Visitor growth
The total number of visitors reached 63.94 million in 2025, marking a 2.7% increase compared with the previous year. Over a longer horizon, the expansion is even more pronounced, with visitor numbers up 68% compared with 2017 levels.
Turkiye’s performance reflects sustained demand across leisure, cultural and special-interest travel segments.
Revenue rise
Tourism revenues climbed to $65.231 billion, representing 6.8% year-on-year growth. Compared with 2017, tourism income has surged 109%, highlighting how earnings have outpaced visitor growth. The data points to stronger value capture per traveller alongside higher volumes.
Spending trends
Average spend per night reached $100, up 3.6% on 2024 and 36% higher than in 2017. The rise in per-night expenditure indicates a shift towards higher-yield tourism, supported by diversification across cultural, gastronomic, health, cruise and winter travel segments.
Turkiye’s three largest source markets were the Russian Federation (6.90 million visitors), Germany (6.75 million) and the UK (4.27 million), reinforcing Europe’s central role in inbound flows.
